A well-polished house appeals to more renters and will rent faster. Additionally, renters feel more comfortable renting a clean & well-cared for home because they know they are dealing with a landlord who takes care of the property. To prepare your house in rent ready condition, consider:

1. Remove all nails from the wall. Patch the nail holes.
2.
Partial paint or paint the whole house in neutral tones.
3. Shampoo the carpet or replace it with neutral color.
4.
Exam and fix all leaky faucets or shower heads.
5.
Make sure all light bulbs are installed and working.
6. Remove curtains and install vertical and/or mini-blinds.
7.
Fix all broken electrical switches and outlets.
8. Clean or replace greasy kitchen vent.
9.
Remove all personal belongings from the house.
10.
Remove trash from the garage & power wash it.
11.
Professional house cleaning.
12. Set up routine yard maintenance / pool services.
